The Olean City School District (OCSD) Foundation Board of Directors elected new officers at its annual meeting this May. Additionally, long-time board members Linda Edstrom and Dr. Brian O’Connell have retired from the foundation.
Janine Scholla was unanimously selected as foundation president. Mrs. Scholla joined the board in 2014 and serviced as vice president in 2015. She brings decades of educational experience to the position, having served as a teacher in the Olean district for 25 years. Mrs. Scholla replaces Steve Pancio, ’78, whose term as president expired.
Kyle Leslie, ’01 was unanimously selected as board vice president. A three-year board member, she will oversee the foundation’s annual Academic Wall of Fame nominations, and assist with other committees, programs and fundraisers to raise money for children in the district.
Lauren Stuff was re-elected board secretary, while Dan Stetz was re-elected treasurer.
Ms. Edstrom and Dr. O’Connell are retiring from the board after more than a decade of service for each. The two former board members were instrumental in forwarding the foundation’s mission to enhance the educational experience for students in the district.
The OCSD Foundation provides funds for programs, initiatives and/or equipment that otherwise would not be made available to Olean students. Making this possible are the foundation’s annual fundraising events, including the upcoming Red and Gold Scramble and Golf Ball Drop and the Olean High School Commemorative Walkway Project.
